About Me

Welcome to Exhale Therapy and Wellness!

My name is Cheyanna (Shy-anna), and my pronouns are she/her/they/them. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor committed to supporting individuals as they navigate difficulties with mood, anxiety, stress, trauma, self-esteem, relationship/peer conflict, life transitions, gender/sexual/racial identity, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults who are grappling with the intersections of their identities.

I integrate a holistic, trauma-informed, person-centered framework using somatic therapy techniques and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I believe counseling services should encourage you to apply your unique strengths to address your challenges. It is my role to support you as you identify, understand, process, and decrease the impact of stress and trauma on your personal and professional lives.

I believe in the importance of de-pathologizing mental health and utilizing somatic practices and community-based healing to improve your relationship with yourself and, subsequently, your family, community, and culture. I place immense value on the therapeutic relationship and establishing safety. I utilize a variety of evidence-based theories and techniques, in addition to reclaimed ancestral wisdom, to honor the full intersectionality of my clients.
